About: Do you have the talent to develop a nutritional program for hundreds of elementary students? Could you acquire the skill to develop a great-tasting healthy snack food? How about running your own restaurant? or supervising the foodservice staff at a hospital? You can prepare for careers like these and many more. You'll work closely with outstanding faculty in a combination of classroom and real-life experiences. Recent additions to the department include Culinary Science (Culinology¿), which combines taste and technology to develop new food products for consumers, and the new Nutrition, Fitness and Health Promotion option, which combines science, nutrition, health and exercise to prepare graduates for careers in wellness and fitness. Graduates of the NSD department are enjoying great careers with food processing companies, hotels and resorts, educational systems, federal agencies, and healthcare facilities.
